Weekend shenanigans- Fall is here!!!

This last weekend was so much fun! Friday night we had a double date with some of our favorite people at Cubby's, one of our favorite restaurants. Saturday was a rainy day adventure. One of our best friends created the Utah Treasure Quest and we were running around all day volunteering and helping. It was such a blast! These pictures below were taken at the zip-line portion of the quest. It was so beautiful up the canyon!!
Taking a lunch break at Cafe Rio made the day that much better :)

Sunday's are always the best. We enjoyed church in our new building and nursery with the little toddlers was quite an adventure. We invited Scott's two cousins who moved back to town as well as my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and his girlfriend to dinner. It was a lot of people in our little apartment, but it was a blast.
We ate dinner, talked, played "heads up" and laughed until we cried.
If you haven't played the heads up game it's hilarious. It takes a video while your playing. Here's one of my favorites. I'm the one holding the phone and guessing what everyone is acting out.

Hahahaha nightmare...

Braid obsessed

Braids are all the rage at the moment and I'm in love with them. It's taken a lot of practicing for me to create semi-acceptable braids, but it has been fun experimenting. I thought I'd share some of my many "braid selfies"
My two favorite styles are a side braid with my hair down and side braid into a low or mid pony.

I'm still working on the double dutch braid.

Happy Saturday :)

The perfect puppy

If you read my blog somewhat often, you know that Scott and I have rented a few puppies over the last couple months. We love it. This little puppy we rented yesterday was probably the cutest puppy I have ever seen in my life. He was perfect. We had so much fun playing and running around with him in the park. Then cuddling with him after we wore him out :)

For my birthday I asked Scott for a puppy even though I knew it wasn't realistic. Scott, being the awesome guy that he is, instead surprised me with money for a year's worth of puppy rentals. He's the best.
I mean look at that face!!
Puppies always love Scott. (Everyone always loves Scott)

Have a good Wednesday!

Exclamation!

T-Shirt | Camp Moxie   Skirt | Agnes & Dora  Converse | Target

So I'm in love with this adorable T-shirt company Camp Moxie. I'm a lover of t-shirts and these are comfy and adorable! These Agnes and Dora Skirts have been on repeat this summer. They're like wearing sophisticated sweatpants. They are so comfortable.

I'm excited for it to get cooler so I can start layering! I always feel like my wardrobe is so boring during the summer because all I want to wear are shorts and a t-shirt.

How I make my thin hair look thick- 10 tips!

I suffer from fine, thin hair.
Now, don't think I'm hating on my hair. I love my natural hair color, it's texture, it's lack of frizz, it holds a curl and it dries stick straight. However, when it comes to volume, my hair ranks a zero on a scale of one to ten. If I let it dry on its on it would be glued to my head.

All of that being said, I have learned quite a few tricks over the years to make my thin hair look thicker. Some have worked and some haven't. So, I thought I would compile a list of my top 10 tips. I talk about each of them more in depth in the tutorial.

And even if you don't have extremely fine hair like I do, try them out!

Cute, Quick and Yummy Football Cookies

These delicious and adorable football cookies have become a game day tradition in our house.
I came up with the idea a few years ago when I wanted to make something festive, cute and quick for a Superbowl party and they were a hit! They are requested for every football viewing party we go to and I'm happy to make them because they're so easy!

It only takes four ingredients!

1 box chocolate cake mix
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs (or two mashed bananas)
1 tub whipped cream cheese frosting (or whatever you prefer)

Mix it all together and then shape the dough into football shaped cookies on a baking sheet.
I just use my fingers. I create a ball as if I were making a typical cookie and then I press it flat (1/4th of an inch thick) and shape it into an oval with pointed tips.
^this is a horrible picture, but it's what they look like before I throw them in the oven^

Then I cook them for 7-10 minutes at 350 degrees
and put them on a cooling rack.

After they've cooled I go on to frosting!

I like to make them like homemade Oreos and uses two cookies with a layer of frosting in between, You don't have to do that if you don't want to though. The most important part to making them look like footballs is the icing seam on the top. I just use a piping bag with a writing tip to make a line down the middle (make sure it doesn't go all the way to the ends) and then 3 horizontal lines across.

Then you're done! They are ooey gooey and so cute!

I've substituted the chocolate cake mix with gluten free chocolate cake mix for a gluten free option. Obviously it's not as good, but it's still yummy.
^this patch looks less fluffy because I used the bananas instead of egg^
They taste a little different with the bananas but are still really good.

GO BYU! Ranked 21 baby!!!

Have a good upcoming football weekend and tag me if you try out this recipe!

I'm dying to wear fall clothes!

I'm impatiently waiting for it to cool off a little bit more here in Utah so I can wear all of my favorite clothes again. So I thought I would do a post of some of my favorite outfits from last year that I can't wait to wear again! :)
 This pink and orange outfit.

 Layering... I can't wait!
 Puffy Vests
 Comfy sweaters and booties
This pink moto jacket that I got at the end of the season and only got to wear a couple times.

Is fall your favorite season to dress for??
