How I Curl My Hair- my first tutorial

I have been having a lot of questions in the last few weeks about how I curl my hair, so I finally but together a tutorial. I love watching other people's tutorials, but I've dreaded the day I felt like I would need to do one. I felt so weird videoing and talking to myself! But, I did it. Hope it's helpful!
Let me know if you have any questions!

P.S. Don't mind my open closet in the background! Don't know why I didn't shut the doors..ugh

Coral and Blue

This neon coral skirt is perfect. I'm so excited to wear it all spring and to style it in all sorts of ways. I've never paired coral and blue together, but I think I like it. Also, I've noticed that I am loving tying my tops up lately rather than tucking them in. What do you guys think??

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here!

The Ultimate Nail Polish Test

I'm a girly girl at heart, so of course I love having my nails done!
But I'm also a little bit of a perfectionist, so I'd rather have no nail polish than a chipped and messy mani.
I HATE putting time and effort into doing my nails when it without fail, almost always chips within a few hours.(Is this just a problem I have?) I discovered Gel Nails a few years back and they are amazing! They have been the only way I've done my nails. But dang, they are ridiculously expensive! The cost has meant that I usually don't have my nails done and it's made me look into buying all of the needed materials (UV light and polishes) to do it at home for cheaper.

BUT THEN, my hair dresser told me about this new nail polish called Vinylux. It's a base coat and a top coat polish that is hardened by natural light rather than UV light. She said it was a perfect middle ground between Gel nails and traditional nail polish. It sounded too good to be true, so I put is to the ultimate test and these are my results!

Oh my goodness! I'm in love with this polish!
Basically, it looks almost as good as a gel nail manicure, it goes on quicker (It took me 8 minutes), doesn't use a UV light, it doesn't chip like normal polish, it comes off SO much easier than gel nails, it isn't as damaging to your nails as Gel nails can be and the cost is totally affordable! -- yeah, I'm in love.
I would say the only plus to Gel nails are that they last twice as long.

So how do you get this amazing Vinylux polish? I bought mine at my Salon (Suggestions Salon in Orem Utah) but you can also find it online through Amazon. I haven't found it at any drug stores or beauty supply stores.
Try it out and let me know if you feel the same way!

Life Lately

Last weekend I hung with these two chicas (Ariel and Bri) and lots of other awesome blogger friends. We went to the Gap fashion show, shopped, went to lunch and grabbed our favorite Sodalicious drinks. We also had some good laughs!
St. Patrick's Day was a pretty awesome one!
I had a fabulous day at school and then we meet up with Scott's family to see the brand new aquarium.
My sister-in-law works for the construction company who built it so we were lucky enough to see everything before it opens next week. The shark tunnel was my favorite. Afterwards we went out to dinner at an amazing Mexican place.
Since the weather has been warming up, Scott and I love to go on long walks around town. We walked past this house and I was obsessed! How cute is it? I want it!
Also, I went to the dollar store, saw these chocolate bunnies and about peed my pants laughing.
I don't know why I find it so funny...

Have an awesome weekend!

Floral Obsession

Every year when the weather starts to warm up I get literally obsessed with bright clothing and floral printed pieces! These are a few of the items on my current with list. I'm dying over the floral sunnies and that swimsuit! I'm holding back the urge to buy them both!

Happy Day! Spring is coming!

Investment Piece

I don't like to pay an arm and a leg for my clothing. I like to get quality for as cheap as possible! Most of my closet I got on sale or used a coupon, but I have those few select pieces that I payed more than I wanted to for because I knew they'd be worth it. This Anthropologie military jacket is one of those investment pieces. I got it almost six years ago before I even went to college (oh my how time flies!) and it is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. It goes with everything and has stayed in style all of these years!

What pieces are you willing to pay more for in your wardrobe??

Happy Tuesday!

If you've been reading my blog since the beginning then you're probably thinking you've already seen this outfit, and you're right! This was one of my very first outfit posts (minus the bag and shoes) back when I took my outfit pics with an iphone and posed even more awkwardly than I do now.  It is one of my favorite looks ever and the first pattern mixing outfit I ever put together. It basically was my first step out of my fashion comfort box. It is still one of my go to outfits when I want to throw something on without the work of putting something together.

ALSO, Happy Birthday to my Daddy! I love you soooooo much! You're the best!
