A little getaway- Part 2

Day two of our little vacation was such a sunny perfect day.
My grandpa took us down to Chrissy Field and Fort Point. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge was breathtaking! Fort Point was really cool and I was kind of obsessed with it's architecture.
For lunch we grabbed sandwiches and desserts at Tartine Bakery. It is one of my Grandparents Favorites and everyone else who lives in the San Francisco area too haha It is always packed! It is absolutely delicious though, and if you're ever in San Fran you must check it out!
We ended our time by the beach with a perfect sunset.

The Power Suit

Suit|Banana Republic  Button-down|Ralph Lauren, similar  Heels|Ivanka Trump, similar (loving these!)

So, this is my "power suit". I got it a year ago for graduate school interviews and I've never regretted it. I had a hard time deciding between a classic black suit and this grey one. I eventually went with the grey because I thought it was slightly more unique and me. I'm starting the interviewing process again for internships right now and it's amazing how a good suit never goes out of style. When I wear it for interviews, I like to keep it simple and professional but still keep a little bit of my personality with a fun printed or colorful button-down.
What do you like to wear for interviews??

A little getaway -Part 1

We were so grateful to my grandparents for having us for a few days!
They have a gorgeous home on the beach just outside of San Francisco and we had a fantastic time.
The beach is so relaxing and rejuvenating.
My Grandma is the sweetest! She made us this Valentine's Day breakfast and made the heart-shaped coffee cake that is a tradition in our family.  We had so much fun hanging out with them! They are pretty darn fun grandparents.
Our second night in Cali, Scott and I went into San Francisco to watch the Chinese New Year Parade. It was a blast. It was also a mad house. There were hundreds of thousands of people there to watch it because it's considered one of the top ten parades in the world. We were lucky to find a spot where we could see. Being in the city is just so much fun. We watched the parade for about an hour and then walked around the city. I just wish I could have done some shopping!

Life and our Valentine's Day

Last week my whole cohort when to lunch (and ice cream of course) at the BYU creamery to celebrate one of the girls getting married.  These girls (and token male) are more than friends, we're like one big family now :)

Our Valentine's Day Celebration was really different this year. The day before Valentine's I came home from school to this beautiful bouquet of roses and homemade chocolates (how cute is that??)
We opened each other's gifts and just look at that bag! I'm basically obsessed.
We kept it simple with a heart shaped pizza and just enjoyed each other's company.

On Valentine's Day this year we flew out to visit my grandparents in California. It was our first time ever flying together! (can you believe that?) We do a lot of road trips, so flying was so wonderful!
He always keeps me smiling and laughing.

Look forward to all my upcoming posts about our California Trip :)

Taking a Risk

Hat|5th and elm, similar   Shirt|J.Crew   Skirt|Anthropologie, similar  Wedges|Shoedazzle, similar  Watch|Kate Spade

I have loved all of the fabulous hat trends for a while now, but every time I try it for myself I chicken out. I think they look so fab on everybody else but it has just been totally out of my comfort zone. At the Girls will be Girls event a few weeks ago I spotted this perfect floppy fedora and I finally decided to go for it!
How do you guys feel about hats?
Happy Tuesday!
